Arkadia Square Hanoi’s game-changing lifestyle hub

A new mixed development, modelled after the award-winning Plaza Arkadia in Kuala Lumpur’s Desa ParkCity, is expected to draw the crowds in its sister township, ParkCity Hanoi in Vietnam.

ParkCity Group, developer of award-winning master-planned township Desa ParkCity in Kuala Lumpur, is replicating its Plaza Arkadia concept in ParkCity Hanoi’s Arkadia Square, and for good reason.

Since its completion in December 2016, Plaza Arkadia has been one of the coolest and most happening chill-out spots in KL. On weekends especially, you will see families with children and pets, groups of friends, and people young and old strolling though its European-inspired paved streets, visiting the lifestyle shops and dining outlets, and taking the chance to pose for a photo or two against the fountain at the charming central courtyard.

This is a project that has earned prestigious awards. It won the inaugural Mixed-use Development Award introduced by FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards in 2020 and went on to be the World Gold Winner in the same category at the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2020.

In developing Plaza Arkadia as the first phase of Desa ParkCity’s 55-acre ParkCity TownCentre, the developer wanted to create a unique retail experience, and in the process, it has redefined the mixed-use development concept in Malaysia.

The 11.3-acre project presents a modern interpretation of British colonial architecture woven with placemaking elements including wide, open-air pedestrian-only streets and Instagram-worthy social spaces.

It consists of 211 shop units, 167 Small-office Home-offices and 139 office units within eight blocks of four- to five-storeys each. It also has two levels of basement car parks.

Besides anchor tenants Village Grocer and Maybank, the retail centre also offers an array of restaurants and cafes as well as niche services from health, beauty and wellness studios to children enrichment centres.

Plaza Arkadia introduces a social heart and urban setting to this area of KL. Like all good urban spaces, Plaza Arkadia has evolved with modern design elements that bring the historic narrative into the present. When completed, it will create a rich experience by integrating the past and future into a new civic place, resulting in timeless placemaking.

First of its kind

Over in ParkCity Hanoi, Arkadia Square sports a French-inspired design distinguished by sandstone cladding and two grand atrium entrances. The hybrid mixed-use development is the first of its kind in Vietnam.

Like Plaza Arkadia, Arkadia Square is envisioned as an all-in-one shopping, dining, entertainment and lifestyle destination that will become the new social heart of ParkCity Hanoi and its surrounds.

Similar to its counterpart, Arkadia Square also features attractive landscaped open spaces such as its Central Park and Event Plaza, streets lined with greenery, and wide walkways that promote alfresco activities.

The 11.3-acre project will have 92 units housed within six blocks of five levels with retail units on the first two floors, offices on the third and residences on the final two levels of each block. All the retail units will be linked to form an enclosed but well-ventilated and air-conditioned Parisian-style shopping arcade. Level 1 units feature dual frontages for maximum visibility. Both retail and office units are designed for businesses such as F&B, health and beauty, convenience stores, grocers, banks and children’s education.

Meanwhile, the residences boast luxurious double-volume spaces. Homes on the lower level come with dual frontages affording views of the arcade shops on one side and private sky gardens on the other.

All the blocks are connected via link bridges on Level 2. This freehold development is sold in blocks with prices starting from US$1,953,000 (about RM8.6 million).

The project has been very well received. When priority sales began on July 15 last year, all the units/blocks put up for sale were sold out within the day. The rest of the blocks are now open for sale. Most buyers are business owners and investors.

Many see it as an opportunity to live or to do business in Ha Dong district, in a strategic location adjacent to the Le Trong Tan and Nguyen Van Trac main roads, which offer easy access to Hanoi City Centre.

Thanks to its unique concept, the development promises to be a game changer not only for the town but also for the surrounding areas.
