The priority sales event would not start till the next day but a few people had already shown up, preparing to spend the night at the venue, eager to be first in line for Noöra, ParkCity Group’s latest property project in the township often cited as Kuala Lumpur’s most liveable community – Desa ParkCity. Sure enough, when day broke, a long queue of prospective buyers had already formed.

They were among the 4,500 people who had registered their interest and been invited to the priority sales on Nov 26 and 27, 2022. By the end of those two days, over 73% of Noöra’s residential units were taken up.

Besides its coveted address, the enthusiastic response to Desa ParkCity’s first integrated development can also be attributed to Noöra’s Scandinavian-inspired design and lifestyle features. The Scandinavian theme was unveiled during a media preview on Nov 15 held at Jibby by the Park, the Insta-worthy Asian fusion restaurant at The Waterfront in Desa ParkCity. From the decor to the specially plated lunch, members of the media indulged in a Scandinavian experience as an introduction to Noöra.

“The Covid-19 pandemic experience has made people realise what matters in life is not material trappings and single-minded accumulation of wealth. Our priorities have shifted, and we are now more appreciative of simple yet rewarding living.

“We believe the Scandinavian ethos tick most of the boxes when it comes to providing a simpler and more sustainable way of life,” says ParkCity Group CEO Datuk Joseph Lau.

Understated elegance

Noöra comprises two 52-storey towers with 1,156 residential units and a 50,000-sq ft retail podium. The 6.63-acre freehold project is expected to be completed in 2026.

The beauty of the project lies in its simplicity – both in design as well as the lifestyle it offers. Clean architectural lines accentuated by cascading terraces of green foliage lend it an understated elegance, while its bright and airy spaces reflect its name, Noöra, which means “light”.

Topping it off is Noöra Walk, a retail podium that will be retained and managed by ParkCity Group to ensure a well-curated retail experience.

The residential units are cosy and comfortable with layouts that are functional and flexible. They come in one- to three-bedroom types with built-ups from 520 sq ft to 1,282 sq ft, and are priced from RM900 to RM1,000 psf.

“It is more than just a place to stay. The built-up sizes and common facilities cater to the lifestyle of millennials. We believe young homebuyers want to live in a community that offers good accessibility and convenience,” says Lau.

Thoughtful and purposeful

ParkCity Group has a proven track record in delivering quality projects that meet and even exceed the evolving needs and expectations of homebuyers.

Each project in Desa ParkCity is unique. For Noöra, ParkCity Group has teamed up with international architects and designers including the acclaimed Serie Architects (UK) in collaboration with Multiply Architects (Singapore). Their signature was previously marked in the elegantly-designed Park Regent condominium in Desa ParkCity.

Together, they give the project Scandinavian design elements that focus on accessibility and openness, simplicity in design, functionality and comfort, natural light and ventilation, integration with nature, and the creative use of natural materials – a combination that bodes wellness, healthy and sustainable living.

Creative consultancy Liti Design, with its team of experts from Sweden and France, is tasked to bring the Nordic experience to life in every part of the project from space planning to retail concepts.

Motivated by Desa ParkCity’s history as a granite quarry, Singapore-based design studio UPSTRS_ uses textures and tones of granite juxtaposed with timber as the material palette.

Meanwhile, landscape architect and Thailand’s leading design studio PIA Company Ltd weaves nature and greenery into the entire project.

An alternative space

Noöra is ParkCity Group’s response to the growing preference for informal and flexible live-work environments. Forging a new model of urban living, it introduces the Fourth Place, a spatial concept that integrates co-living, co-working and co-mingling elements. As a key driver to Noöra’s communal amenities, these spaces act as extensions of the individual homes, fit for private moments and social activities alike, be they work, play or rest.

For instance, there will be study rooms, work lofts, reading nooks and study booths available on every amenity floor. There are also facilities that encourage social interaction such as a communal kitchen and a communal workshop. Other facilities include a yoga deck, a sports court, swimming pools, a lookout pavilion and a roof garden.

The retail offerings at Noöra Walk will enhance the co-living environment with services such as co-working spaces, fitness studios, artisanal F&B, convenience stores and other services.

For more, residents can easily get to the township’s extensive facilities all within walking distance.
