As a lifestyle property developer, we recognise our responsibility in creating sustainable societies. As such, our townships are designed to promote sustainable communities as well as to prioritise efficient use of natural resources, environmental protection, and reduced energy consumption.

Our commitment to environmental sustainability is the root of our operations. Our core focus lies in implementing passive design principles to foster community-centric and eco-friendly townships. These include the use of natural ventilation, recycled materials, and green spaces to reduce carbon footprints.
Desa ParkCity is a testament to this approach, where buildings and spaces are designed to utilise natural elements for comfort and energy conservation, in addition to the use of low-e glass to help improve insulation which promotes sustainable and cost-efficient living.
CIRCULAR LANDSCAPING
Desa ParkCity’s softscape nursery, founded in 2014, is the epitome of our commitment to sustainable development. The nursery was home to local flora during construction, where plants were relocated to parks before being integrated into the township’s green spaces where they now thrive. Over 20% of the area is dedicated to greenery, with fallen leaves and branches repurposed for compost, helping to enhance sustainability. This cost-effective and eco-friendly approach sets a benchmark in urban landscape planning, drawing attention for its innovative and effective use of resources.
MAXIMISING NATURAL RESOURCES
At Desa ParkCity, the eco-lake at The Central Park uses bio-filtration pumps with lava stones to purify water and regulate oxygen for aquatic life. It doubles as a park feature and an environmental asset.
A stormwater system prevents overflow, integrating eco-sustainability with urban design. Rainwater harvesting optimises local resources, which supports environmental benefits like reduced carbon emissions and flood prevention. Tanks across neighbourhoods help to collect rainwater which are then channeled to lakes, showcases our dedication to sustainable urban living and renewal of the environment.
A FOSSIL-LESS FUTURE
We utilise solar power extensively in our townships by placing panels on rooftops for maximum efficiency. This helps in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saves energy. In low-rise buildings, we also use solar water heating to enhance energy performance and reduce carbon footprints.
Within Desa ParkCity, eco-friendly lifestyles are encouraged with the provision of electric vehicle charging stations. This holistic approach is simply part of our dedication to caring for the environment and embracing sustainable living.
Promoting a Circular Community
Our ParkCity Recycling Centre @ Desa ParkCity was established for the convenience of residents to persuade environmental protection. We have collaborated with Community Recycle for Charity (CRC) to promote an environmentally-conscious community, educating the residents to recycle whenever they can. The collected materials are sold with the proceeds then wholly donated to charity.
Environmental education is also implemented across ParkCity Group’s international schools. For example, The International School @ ParkCity Kuala Lumpur has been instituting numerous recycling schemes to educate the school community about the importance of recycling and waste diversion, including reducing the volume of single-use items, launching a ʻbring your own’ campaign, establishing waste-sorting bins, and, introducing an audit of school waste to monitor progress.
A Book Exchange Corner was also launched at The Waterfront @ Desa ParkCity and the popular initiative has encouraged our community to become eco-aware readers by exchanging their pre-loved books.
