Passive Design Principles

Protecting our environment through passive design principles is central to all our operations. From the onset, environmental sustainability has been a priority and has contributed to building townships that unite families, neighbourhoods and communities, whilst prioritising connectivity and convenience.

Key design characteristics across our townships include natural ventilation, recycled materials, eco-lakes and wide walkways to reduce the community’s carbon footprint.

At Desa ParkCity, we have carefully designed the building orientation and social spaces at the Waterfront neighbourhood mall to be organically ventilated, leveraging on the flow of natural breeze and natural lighting in all common spaces. Additionally, low-e glass has been used on the windows to improve insulation, further contributing to a healthy and comfortable environment for our residents, as well as, minimising the costs and energy consumption related to artificial cooling.
